New baby

Kira's new kitty loves to be snuggled in blankets! Kira is delighted!

Kira and Nat made this.

Yesterday, Kira and Nat collaborated and made her. Pretty impressive.

Prototypical

Kira created this one. I love it. It's such a prototypical picture of a house, tree, and dog.

By Judi

I made this in about 1979. The girls were impressed. I still remember making the picture. I loved it. I was thrilled to find I had it and that it hadn't disintegrated.

Awww.

The brothers all snuggled up in Noël's bed. Noël is the one who looks annoyed. He doesn't want to have to share with Coale.

Quail

These guys were running around near our house on 11/18/2011 before we left for school. I love having a covey of quail on our street.

Heritage Project v2

Doll by Kira (and Mommy). Second grade Heritage Project.

Here's Nat's project from 2 years ago. The dolls look like related. They are different dolls. Next year, we get to make another doll. Hrm...I wonder what she'll look like.)

Week 46

Sweet little Kira age 4 (photo of the week 49/52)

Here's a picture of Kira taken at Katie's wedding. I only have a hard copy of it, so I took a picture of it (with my iPhone). It's one of my favorite pictures of her. I wish I had the (original) soft copy. I must remember to ask Katie!

Meet the new boys! (photo of the week 50/52)

They arrived, today! We met them on Tuesday. Kira's kitty is in back looking more chill and Tia's is in front looking a little scared. We think Kira is naming her kitty Noel (as in Christmas in French) and that Tia is going with Coale (pronounced coal). Of course, this could change. We'll keep you posted.

Buddy's doing "okay" with the situation. Buddy and the new boys haven't officially met yet. The new guys know about Buddy (or rather Noel does, whether he's shared the info with Coale is unknown), and Buddy knows there's at least one new kitty around here. The new boys are adjusting in the bathroom. We're glad Coale came out from behind the toliet! Making progress.

More g.p. love

Again, photos by Nat's teacher. (One of them may turn into a photo of the week 'cause she takes pictures on her iPhone.)

I wish the lighting were a little better on it. Now, (below) I lightened it up a little. What do you think?

Awwww. Natalie and the new class pet, Patches the guinea pig. Her teacher (wonderful Miss W.) took the picture! Thanks, Miss W!

Mom-ba

We'll be back to our tale of Boston soon. (I have to get all my photos in the right place, first.) Today, we'll do a tale of veggies. You may know that Kira has no love of vegetables. For a while, she called them vengetables--she didn't even know what venge meant, but it worked so well as a word. She's outgrown calling veggies that, but she still doesn't like them. Imagine my surprise when she asked for a green smoothie. She tried peas blended with strawberries and bananas and liked it "okay." I suggested she try fruit with spinach. I often drink spinach in my own smoothies so I know from first-hand experience that spinach has a very mild flavor when blended with fruit.

We invented "Mom-ba." Not to be confused with Mambo or Jamba. We've been drinking the veggies for about a month or so. Kira still loves Mom-ba. However, she wouldn't let me take a picture of her drinking them. Tia would though!

I managed to get one of Nat, but it's blurry 'cause she was trying to not get photographed.
