Tia's scooter outfit

Thomas the tank engine helmet, kneepads and shirt! She has a Dora
scooter. She wished they had had a Thomas scooter, but alas. Now,
she's asking for a Thomas the tank engine iPhone. Heh.

More sneaky statues and Kira cleaning in the background.

By Kira

Right before Kira and Tia started preschool, Kira made this picture for Tia. Kira explained to me that it would help get Tia ready for preschool. (Apparently, the grown ups weren't doing enough.) In the picture, you see a pattern at the top. It's an AB pattern (Ice cream, strawberry, ice cream, strawberry). They spend a lot of time discussing patterns in preschool.

Then below the pattern is the life cycle of a butterfly. You'll notice a caterpillar (upper left corner) then a cocoon in the lower right corner and finally, a butterfly in the upper right corner. The lower left quadrant says, Tia by Kira.

Kira spontaneously went to the computer one morning and made this for Tia. (Our little geeky girls! We were so proud!)

A new piece of jewelry

Kira made it for me at preschool.  I love it!  It was pre-licked by Tia too.  What could be better?

Today

Today, I figured out how to email in blog posts... It should have just worked, but apparently it only works from certain email addresses. Anyway, I think there are 8 new posts for you in one day. Woo.

Lake Washington this summer

Picture of us watching a video

Red

Tia's favorite color is RED!

(I'm testing sending photos in to the blog via email rather than
uploading. If I can get it to work consistently, it could mean more
pictures and posts. Would that be good or bad?)

Today at Gymnastics

Th 3 girls looking at the camera are Sana, Kira and Tia. Sana is our
neighbor. It's a FUN class! Sana is almost 4, Kira is 4.25 and Tia
is 3.

Kira-rella

Art by Tia

Done with a stencil. The funny thing, we found this black lab last
year. He spent a night at our house and then we found his owners.
The girls really liked him. I didn't imagine Tia would remember him
and she came home with this picture. I asked, "Do you remember
Jake?" She replied, "Oh, yes." Then I asked what color he was and
she replied, "Purple." Heh.

doctor visit for Tia

She's three so the doctor had to see how big she was.  38 inches tall and 34 pounds.  She's at the 70th percentile for height and weight.  Earlier in her life, she was at a lower percentile, so she is getting taller relative her peers now.  Kira and Nat have always been about 90 (Kira) and 95+ (Nat).

What's that for?

Tia and Dr. O have a moment.

Dr. O declared Tia smart, cute and looking good.  She sent her off to do some more mitosis.

Not for you

Tia proudly showed me this picture, but told me, it's not for you, it's for Katie.

Buddy says...

Whatever...

Apparently, according to Natalie, if you tell Buddy that some day, he'll be old and won't want to play, he says, whatever.

Nat says whatever to us already too. Boy, are we in trouble with Nat and her cat already saying, whatever.

First Day for Kira and Tia

Tia cried. She didn't want to go. When I picked her up, she said, "Mommy, I did like school!" She's a little shaky though talking about it tonight. I'm guessing she'll cry again on Friday and I'm preparing myself.

Here are the pictures.

It's almost fall. Summer is basically over. Sigh.

Purr

Kitties love to lay in the sun. Natalie got this picture of Buddy Boy. I kind of like it.

August 17

The day before Tia's 3rd birthday we went to our friend's house (Larry and Patti). They have a pool and have been very gracious hosts many times this summer. The girls love going to their house and Tia is quite attached to Patti--she only wants to swim with Patti.

Anyway, on this particular day, Patti let the girls dip strawberries in melted chocolate. Tia loved it (as you can tell). Nat did too. Kira found it more efficient to eat the chocolate off a spoon. She didn't want to contaminate the chocolate with strawberry.

We also did cake and sang Happy Birthday to Tia. (The cake was chocolate chip. peanut butter cookie bars.)

Quote of the day (Biology)

Kira:

Daddy, is syrup tree sap that we can eat?
