Back in April we got to tap dance with Sarah Reich.

Flutes

 

I played flute and then Kira played flute (then she switched to trumpet).  Over the weekend, my two trumpet players who have never played flute got out the flutes and piccolo.  We had a long lesson session and they learned amazingly quick!  I've never taught people who 1) know how to read music, and 2) have a good concept of playing an instrument.  I've taught 4th graders how to make noise on the flute before, but that's as far as I got.  Super fun day!

I didn't get any pictures of the girls this year...

I'm not sure if Nat dressed up this year. Tia was Katniss from the hunger games and I can probably get her to dress up again (it involves all black clothes). Kira wore all black and put on a mask and answered the door for the trick or treaters a couple of times.  Nat, Kira, and I watched Gilmore Girls, and Tia went out with her friend.  Nick decorated with the awesome black cats he got a few years ago! People took selfies with them this year.  That's how awesome they are.

On our little anniversary vacation.

September was a whirlwind.  Really, this whole year has been.  It's been going on a while, actually.  I didn't get posts up to mark her birthday or the day she died.  She would have been 93 this year.  We miss you!  Born 9/17 and passed away on 9/16 85 (almost 86) years later.

Nick did a really great job with getting the tree healthy all organically!  He's my favorite organic gardener.
