A couple weeks back we took a hike and saw this little quail. He (I'm guessing) was guarding the babies. Nat took some video of the babies. So cute!

Apple Camp!

This week, the big sisters went to Apple Camp to learn about iMovie. Pretty cool! It's held at a store--anyone who signs up can attend. The girls learned how to edit sounds and movies.

Natalie shot a movie of the kitties and Kira made a "Springtime Slideshow." We'll try to get their movies up and on the web after they are totally done. On Saturday, we go back for a film festival where they debut their movies.

Tia was too little this year, but potentially next year! She found a quiet spot and played on the iPad.

We went to the city on Monday to meet Baby "A." She's the daughter of our first nanny for Natalie. So sweet!

The summer is going way too fast.  We'll take a trip back to June and hope that time will slow down!

Swinging and being silly! As you can see, Nat's broken arm isn't slowing her down too much.  She only has to wear the splint for 2 more weeks!  Yay!

3 of us are not eating dairy and are trying to eat all plant-based foods.  We started the new blog to have a place to think nutritionally and to keep our recipes.  A blog post (in the NY Times) today made me want to share.

As many of you know, I (Judi) gave up dairy and have been eating mostly plant-based since Fall 2009. I gave up eggs and salmon last fall.  This documentary film was also very educational and influential in my thinking.

Back in April, Vida inspired Natalie to give up dairy.  A few weeks later, Natalie, Vida and these scones inspired Kira to give up dairy.  (Natalie told Kira she couldn't have any of the scones unless she gave up dairy.)

So, what are you doing this week?

 

Today, Kira went to "machine basics" in preparation for her sewing camp this coming week!  She made this pillow case.  They were out of pillows today, but as soon as they come back in she'll get a pillow and will have a very special new throw pillow!
