Pie-romaniac

She loves pumpkin pie with chocolate chips as the crust.  It's what she requests!

 And...

Over the weekend, at her birthday party at the trampoline place, Tia's knee was hurt. We and she are very sad. We don't know how bad it is yet as she was in too much pain for the doctor to fully examine her on Saturday. X-rays didn't show anything (didn't think they would) so we may need to do more, but the first step is waiting to see how quickly she heals.  She's on crutches and not able to put weight on it yet.  We'll know more by Friday.

Post Ballet show

This was at the end of July -- after Kira's ballet show.

Wild West

Just another summer morning around our house.  It's always a little wild here... Glad we live out west.

(Taken at the beginning of August.)

Handstands

Thank you, Aunt Heather.  This is the best shirt for Tia!

Tia's birthday

When we were in Seattle, Tia got a few early birthday presents.  Thank you, Aunt Kelly and Uncle Gerard.

Grandma K's family

Kira is absolutely fascinated by family history and pictures.
Here's Grandma K's family.  Grandma K must have been all of 5 or 6 here.... She is the oldest.
Look at those ringlets!  (Photo of the photo taken with the glass on it, sorry for the slight glare.)

Happy Birthday (yesterday)

My phone was acting up and I didn't get a chance to chat, but hope it was a great day!  I'll try to call tonight.  Yesterday was a little crazy.  (You know what the first week of school is like here.)

New house

In Seattle at Stephanie's new house.

Photo by Nick or Kelly... someone sent it to me.

Traditional

Here's what they do EVERY time we go to Seattle / Tacoma.

(The next few days will be posts from our trip--blogging NOT real time.)

First day

The sisters.
This may or may not be the "official" first day shot.
I need to download the DLR.
I do love the iPhone camera.
I love that it automatically shares everything with my computer.
I wished for this functionality in 2002.
Wishes do come true.

The best thing about the school year so far...
No first period class for Natalie.
This means we can all leave the house at almost 8 am together.
It also means that we don't have to get up in the 6 o'clock hour.
It also means that the high school drop off is not scary and dangerous with a ton of drivers.
I'll let you know if anything disappoints, but after one day, I say "it's awesome."

On another note, shout out to Uncle Joe... He's often here on the first day of school.
We miss you!

Look at those great smiles!
Grandma K and Aunt Heather.

Birthday boy

We went to Seattle to celebrate 80 big ones with this handsome gentleman.  Happy (early) birthday, Ted/Grandpa/Dad!

In case you're worried

but you haven't wanted to say anything, but you think I don't feature the kitties on the blog as much as I should, check out:

https://www.instagram.com/virtualblackcatz/

They are covered -- all black cats, all the time.

I have taken some of those pictures but some are by the girls.

Celebrating!

This blog is 10 years old.  Look at how far ballet has come in 10 years.

Insert cliché about time flying and kids growing so fast.

Ballet

I forgot to post this one of Kira and her friends.  Love these girls--they have so much fun together.  Summer Intensive is dancing M-F, 10 am - 4 pm all of July.  This year, the girls wanted to hang out on Fridays after ballet.  Each family picked up all four girls one Friday night.  It was great!

Oh deer!

She came in the yard

ate a lot (asparagus, mulberry bush, apples, sunflowers)

And left.  I caught her out there one morning. We also got some deer scat in the yard, too.

Tia and her boy

Snuggled up reading.  One of the best things in life.

I think the author must have spoken with Coale.  See
