Sugar cookies with chocolate chips

Tia made these... a hint of almond (from extract) made these sugar cookies awesome.  She made some with 6 chocolate chips and some plain.  Both kinds were yummy!  I love my cooking girls!

Bean dumplings

Kira found / made the recipe and worked on perfecting it over the long weekend.  We got them for lunch on Sunday and Monday.  YUM.  Look for a recipe soon.

Tomatoes #47

When your garden goes a little crazy and gives you a lot of tomatoes you take a bunch, cut them up, throw them in a pan with a little olive oil, a little balsamic, dried basil, oregano, and garlic. Toss them over some noodles. Yum.

Deep freeze

Our garden, and fruit trees, produce so much that I decided we needed a deep freeze. Now I have to fill it. Fortunately, I have very prolific tomatoes, and a full Fuji apple tree to help. Egg plants are still ripening, too! Anyone want to come over and help me pick and process from the garden? It's a wonderful problem, but I'm feeling a little overwhelmed!

Bread!

On our vacation, my friend made sourdough bread.  This inspired Nick, our bread maker and bread lover.  The girls are pretty stoked.  Even me, someone who doesn't love bread, is pretty excited.  Homemade bread is pretty heavenly.  The first loaf (last Sunday) was a success.  I think we got a picture of it, but it's not on my camera.  Look for upcoming bread posts!

Zucchini

Garden by Nick, Natalie, and Tia

Judi cooks it mostly. Sunday night (last night) we made 4 zucchini--two were turned into zucchini fries, one was turned into zucchini hummus, and one was turned into 4 loaves of zucchini bread (Nick's specialty).

Muffins

Natalie has perfected her chocolate chip muffins!  These cute little silicone muffin liners are awesome.  The dishwasher doesn't like them, but the cook does. They were a mother's day present.  I'll follow up with her recipe on our food blog soon.
